Africa Soccer CHAMPIONS LEAGUE : AHMAD BACKS DEMBA BA

Banned CAF president Ahmad has supported Basaksehir striker Demba Ba for leading protests against a match official who abused racially the team’s assistant coach Pierre Webo on Tuesday night.

“@dembabafoot is the pride of #Africa and the world. It must be encouraged. For a long time, #football has been waiting to see all the players in a game so no to #racism,” Ahman tweeted.

Basaksehir players and their PSG counterparts refused to carry on with the Uefa Champions League match after the fourth official Sebastian Coltescu used sensitize words when describing the former Cameroonian international.

You never say, ‘This white guy, that white guy,” Ba was overhead when confronting the referee.

The decider has since been shifted to Wednesday night and a new set of officials led by Dutch referee Danny Makkelie will take charge of the game, replacing Ovidiu Hategan who showed Webo the red card.

The game will kick off from 14-minute mark. Webo’s red card has since been rescinded.
