Delta Queens FC kick off the return of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership with a comfortable 4-1 win over newly promoted Dreamstars Ladies FC.
Following the suspension of the NWFL due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, the league finally got underway with Delta Queens hosting Dreamstars Ladies at the Agbor Township Stadium.
The Pearls took the lead just 9 minutes of play Odubanjo Dominance netting the first goal of the season.
Two minutes later, Iyasere Gift double the lead in the run of play to offiallu welcome the visitors to the NWFL.
Dominance scored the third goal of the game which was his second for the day in the 36th minute as the host headed to the half time beesk with 3-0.
Dreamstars Ladies returned from the half time break looking more dangerous and threatened to pull one back in the opening minutes of the second half.
But Delta Queens goalkeeper pulled some strings of saves to ensure his team maintain their 3-0 lead.
Dreamstars Ladies best chance came in the 52 minutes as Sofiat Bankole scored to reduce the deficit to 3-1.
Agbulu Oghogho scored in the 77th minute to make it 4-1 ad the game ended with both side failing to find the net despite threatening to do so.
Delta Queens will now jointly top the table alongside Edo Queens who defeated Royal Queens 4-1Matchday 1.
