Bundesliga Dortmund parts way with Favre after heavy loss against Stuttgart

Borussia Dortmund have parted ways with head coach Lucien Favre after two and a half years in charge of the club.
 
Dortmund suffered a 5-1 defeat to Stuttgart in Saturday’s Bundesliga at the Signal Iduna Park.
 
The result saw the Yellow and Black slipped to 5th place on the log after 11 games.
 
Dortmund in a statement on its official website thanked Favre for his dedication and wish him success.

The club also confirmed that assistant coach Edin Terzic will serve as interim until end of the current season.
 
The statement reads as follows;
 
 
“The club would like to thank Lucien for his dedication and wish him success in his future.
 
“Assistant coach Edin Terzic has been appointed as interim manager until the end of the current season. Terzic’s coaching team will be joined by Sebastian Geppert and Otto Addo. 
 
Club chairman, Hans-Joachim Watzke wished Favre good luck.
 
“We are all grateful for Lucien Favre and his excellent work over the past two and a half years, where he and his team finished as runner-up twice. 
 
“Beyond any doubt, Lucien Favre is a great professional and person.”
