Africa Soccer ZAMBIA : FA PLAYS IT SAFE ON MICHO CASE

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has released a statement over allegations that their senior national team coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic was allegedly connected to a sexual abuse scandal in South Africa last week.

In the statement, FAZ says it will let justice to take its natural course before commenting on the matter.

Mr Sredojevic is being represented by legal counsel in this matter, where he has pleaded not guilty and will be making a statement at the appropriate time.

“FAZ is not able to comment at this time until fully briefed about the matter by Mr Sredojevic and his legal representatives,” the statement reads.

Micho, 51, appeared at the New Brighton Magistrate’s Court in South Africa on sexual assault charges late last week.

It was alleged that on Monday 07 December during the Cosafa Games in Port Elizabeth a 39-year-old woman was delivering coffee at the Wolfson Stadium when she asked Sredojevic if he would need sugar with his coffee.

He allegedly said no and disclosed that he needed another type of sugar while pointing at her private parts.

It is alleged that the lady complained to her boss who in turned warned Sredojevic not to do it again.

Later on that day the lady went to deliver coffee again at same stadium and this time Sredojevic allegedly touched her buttocks.

He was granted R10 000 bail and his next court appearance will be on 25 February 2021.
