Nigeria NWFL Week 2 wrap: Edo, Rivers, Robo win As Delta Queens loss

The 2020/2021 season of the Nigeria Women Football League(NWFL) Premiership entered week 2 on Wednesday across various stadia.
 
Before the kick off all matches, there was  a minute of silence to honour the late member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee and chairman of Akwa-Ibom Football Association, Emmanuel Ibah who died on Tuesday.
 
An action packed Matchday 2 saw a total of 21 goals scored, two  than the 19 goals recorded on Matchday 1.
 
Matchday 2 also recorded two away victories with just one draw.

It was a rain of goals at the UNIPORT Sports Complex as eight goals was scored by Rivers Angels and Delta Queens in a game that ended 6-2 in favour of the defending champions.
 
 
Bayelsa Queens picked their second win of the season following their 2-1 win against Nasarawa Amazons who are yet to won at home.
 
It was another resounding victory for FC Robo as they trounced visiting Osun Babes 3-1 at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium Suruelere.
 
Another Lagos-based club, Dreamstar Ladies suffered their second loss of the season as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Agege Stadium to visiting Edo Queens.
 
Sunshine Queens picked their first victory of the season in Akure after a 2-0 win over Confluence Queens.
 
The Akwa-Ibom derby between Ibom Angels and Pelican Stars ended 1-1.
 
Royal Queens picked their first point with a 1-1 draw against Abia Angels in Warri.
 
At the end of Matchday 2, Edo Queens top the table with six points jointly followed by FC Robo and Bayelsa Queens.
 
Rivers Angels are fourth with four points while Delta Queens occupies seventh position.
