Africa Soccer MALAWI : LIONS MARCH ON

Red Lions FC’s impressive start to the TNM Super League continued on Saturday afternoon when they beat Chitipa United 1-0 to remain on top.

Henry Kamunga scored the only goal of the game, as Lions took their tally to 11 points from five games, four points ahead of second-placed Silver Strikers who beat Karonga United 3-1 at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.

Winger Duncan Nyoni scored a double and Patrick Macheso added the other goal for Silver whereas Khumbo Msowoya netted for Karonga who are on 10th place with four points from three games.

Elsewhere, Be Forward Wanderers remain winless this season after playing out to 1-1 draw with Kamuzu Barracks at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.

In the Northern Region, Mzuzu Warriors beat Mighty Tigers 2-1.
