Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer decried the state of the grass on Esperanca Sagrada’s pitch following his men’s away win in CAF Confederation Cup.

A goal of Thembinkosi Lorch secured the advantage for the Bucs in first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup‘s first round.

Apart from the positive result which is their third in the last three games, Pirates coach Zinnbauer was not happy at all with the pitch on which his men played.

“It was a tough game for us, the weather was very hot, and the grass was not so good. The grass was long, and the ball was bouncing a bit but over time we became better in the game against a very strong defence, who use a man-marking system, it’s not so easy for our players,” Zinnbauer told Pirates’ media department after the game.

“We have special players who want more space, they want the one-on-one and its not so easy when you always have your opponent on your back, but they did a good job today. The result especially it was a team effort today,” he explained.
