Dstv Premiership Mamelodi Sundowns Strengthening Midfield With Two Youngsters

Midfield duo Siphesihle Mkhize and Musawenkosi Mdhluli have joined Mamelodi Sundowns for five-year contracts each. As they now got promotion to the Sundowns senior team this season.

The 21-year-old pair have come through the Brazilians’ youth setup. And they graduated from the reserve side to join the likes of Hlompho Kekakana, Themba Zwane and other stars in the first team.

Mamelodi Sundowns are proud to announce the promotion of Sphesihle Mkhize and Musawenkosi Mdhluli to the senior squad from the academy with both players putting pen to paper for 5 years.” Read a statement from the club.

Both players are twenty-one years old and have been making their strides in the Mamelodi Sundowns Academy. They have been promoted to bolster the midfield, as Mkhize is a defensive midfielder. While Mdhuli is an attacking option for the technical team.”

Mkhize, who spent last season on loan in the GladAfrica Championship with Ajax Cape Town, has already made his professional debut after coming off the bench in Sundowns’ 2-0 CAF Champions League win over Jwaneng Galaxy in Botswana on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Mdhluli has not been registered for their continental campaign. But he could still make his debut in the DStv Premiership after its restart in January next year.
