CAF Champions League CAFCL: Johnson blames poor pitch for Al Ahly slim win again Sunidep

Al Ahly assistant head coach Kevin Johnson says the poor pitch at Niger Republic prevented his side from their best performance against Sunidep in the CAF Champions League.
 
 
The reigning CAF Champions continued their fantastic performance in the continent interclub elite competition with a 1-0 away win against Sunidep.
 
 
Johnson who lead the team to Niger said head coach  Pitso Mosimane said the game was not easy for his players.
 
 
He expressed delight over the outcome of the result which was a clean sheet going to the second leg in Egypt.

Johnson indicated that the Sonidep team includes some good players, and he wanted to achieve a surprise in front of Al-Ahly, which is what the technical staff put in his calculations.
 
 
He confirmed that the poor pitch prevented the players from presenting the form and performance that they are accustomed to, but the return match will have different accounts, and the important thing is that we won in Niger during the first leg. 
 
 
Speaking further, he  explained that as the reigning champions, any team that plays against it wants to achieve an achievement and come out with a positive result.
 
 
Al-Ahly’s general coach stressed that the technical staff gave some players a greater chance during the match, according to the instructions of the coach, Pitso Mosimane, who is counted as winning today in his career with the team.
 
 
The gaffer thanked Al-Ahly fans who support the team, stating that they deserve to be happy with their team and their victories locally and Africa.
