Africa Soccer El-Hadary: Why I didn’t join Etoile du Sahel for the first call

el-Hadary

Legendary Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary revealed the reasons why he didn’t join Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel as goalkeeping coach when club officials walled him first.

The 47-year-old shot stopper retired from football in 2019 after a short stint with Egyptian Premier League side Nogoom FC.

So far, he was doing fitness to keep his good shape but never has he joined a club staff before Etoile du Sahel officials approached him to take over the role of goalkeeping coach.

However, he failed to join them as his mother was sick.

“My mother’s illness disrupted me from joining the team, and I told Etoile officials that I will not be able to leave my mother at the time being,” El-Hadary said in reports of KingFut.

“If they wait for me until the current circumstances change, then there should be no problem,” he added.
