Europe Jesus, Walker test positive to COVID-19 ahead Newcastle game

Pep Guardiola is set to be without Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker ahead of their boxing day Premier League game against Newcastle United.

A rejuvenated Manchester City side  will host Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium on Matchday 15.

However, the absence of Jesus and Walker will be a major set back for Guardiola as he hope to end the 2020 on a winning note.

The club in a statement on it’s official website said apart from the two players, two officials also tested positive to COVID-19.

Manchester City FC can confirm that Gabriel Jesus, Kyle Walker, and two members of staff have tested positive for COVID-19.

“All four personnel will now observe a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.

“Everyone at the Club wishes our colleagues a speedy recovery over the Christmas period ahead of their return to work, training and competition.”

The Cityzens are currently in eight position on the log with 23 points from 13 games.
