Africa Soccer Plateau United management slash players, coaches salary

After a disappointing 2-0 loss at home to Kwara United, Plateau United HS decided to place the entire team on half salary.
 
The former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions kicked off the 2020/2021 season with a shocking loss to a Kwara United who were in relegation zone last season.
 
A lacklustre performance saw them conceded two goals to the Afonja Warriors at the New Jos Stadium.

The General Manager of the team, Pius Henwan decided to slash the salary of the players as part of disciplinary measure to get them back to win in ways.
 
The salary slash according to an inside said affects both the coaching staff also.
 
Plateau United were elected champions of the 2019/2020 NPFL season after it was suspended in March 2020 due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
 
The club represented Nigeria in this season CAF Champions League but couldn’t make it past the preliminary round.
 
They lost 1-0 to Tanzanian giants, Simba SC in the first leg here in Nigeria and played 0-0 in Tanzania.
