Africa Soccer ZAMBIA : MALAWIAN TOP ARTIST ENDORSES FAZ FOOTBALL JERSEY

The thin line between football and music was there for all to see in Zambia on Monday December 28 2020.

Malawian artist Patience Namadingo visited the Football House where he lauded Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) for coming up with its own afro-centric brand of football jerseys called KoPa.

On its Facebook page, the association says Namadingo, who is on a visit to Zambia, met FAZ president Andrew Kamanga and general secretary Adrian Kashala at Football House.

“This is beautiful, I actually didn’t know that KoPa was the brand name because I thought it was the jersey name, I will be putting on the KoPa from today,” Namadingo is quoted saying.

I am pro-African, and I love this. We’ve just grown to know Umbro, Puma but a KoPa coming from Africa is exciting.”

FAZ media team says Kamanga praised Namadingo for his charity works in Malawi and Zambia.

Namadingo is reported to have promised to promote the KoPa jersey in Malawi.

FAZ owns KoPa wholly and the brand is registered as trademark at PACRA.

We want to grow the market locally then we go outside. So even in Malawi, those teams that are looking for a dedicated kit, we are happy to prepare something for them. It is very affordable; it’s only going for K350 which is essentially about $15 so give or take. FAZ took a decision to manage the value chain, we want to work for ourselves and keep the value,” Kamanga is quoted saying.

The Mapulani hit-singer has a huge following in the neighbouring country.
