Egypt Pitso Mosimane hits back at Ibrahim Hassan criticism

Pitso Mosimane

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has responded to Ibrahim Hassan’s criticism on him as Ittihad assistant coach said he could not succeed in another team.

Following their heavy 0-4 defeat to Red Devils on Monday, Ibrahim Hassan belittled the work of Pitso at Al Ahly.

As for him, anyone can succeed at Al Ahly regarding their workforce and its qualities.

The South African manager said he respects the view of Ibrahim but added Al Ahly also prepared its games and did not won them before entering the pitch. If not, Mahmoud El Khatib’s club would have won the CAF Champions league in the past seven years.

“I respect his [Ibrahim Hassan’s] opinion. Maybe his statements suit clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City as well, but what I know that football does not work like that,” Mosimane said in his post-match presser.

“If it was like that so why didn’t Al Ahly win the Champions League in the past seven years?

“Being Al Ahly doesn’t mean we are automatically the winners of every game. We have to prepare for games and work hard to win,” he added.

As a reminder, Pitso Mosimane was appointed head coach of Al Ahly in October and he completed the treble with the Cairo giants including the Egyptian Premier League, Egypt Cup and the CAF Champions league with the CAF Super Cup yet to be played (against RS Berkane).
