Al Masry SC and Egypt striker Ahmed Gomaa has reported announced he has tested positive to Covid-19.

Gomaa did not feature in Al Masry’s 1-0 win over Gazl El Mahalla on Wednesday night in the matchday 5 of the Egyptian Premier League.

And the reason behind this absence is now revealed as the 32-year-old forward has contracted coronavirus.

The duration of his unavailability period is yet to be known.

However, Al Masry who are currently third on league table with nine points, will face Al Ittihad of Alexandria on Thursday, January 7. A game Ahmed Gomaa could miss.
