Egypt Egyptian Premier League to continue with VAR despite criticisms

Following a meeting with Egyptian Premier League clubs on Wednesday, EFA (Egyptian Football Association) reportedly confirmed that the VAR will continue operating in the league.

Five days after the 2020/21 Egyptian Premier League starts, the different clubs are not unanimous on the using of the VAR in the league.

To make things things clearer, EFA met with club officials on Thursday and confirmed, according to KingFut, that the Video Assistant Referee will continue it work in the top-flight. This, despite claims on the dropping of the technology.

Not only the VAR issue has been discussed, but also, the solution for clubs’ squad amid this Covid-19 pandemic. They unanimously established a three-player list for the clubs in order to support them in case a player who should play test positive to Coronavirus.
