Victor Osimhen is set to be out of action for the next few weeks after testing positive to COVID-19 in Italy.
Osimhen was initially out of action due to injury he sustained while playing for the Super Eagles in their 4-4 AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone.
The forward who is in his first season with Napoli will now be isolated after he tested positive to COVID-19.
Napoli confirmed in a statement on their official website that the former Lille forward has not come in contact with the rest of the team.
“The club can confirm that Victor Osimhen has tested positive for COVID-19 following his return to Italy.
“Osimhen is currently asymptomatic and has not come into contact with the rest of the squad.”
Osimhen will miss Sunday Serie A away game against Cagliari.
