Maritzburg United started the 2021 year in the best of manners as they earned their very first win of the season on matchday 9 by stunning Bleom Celtic.

Thabiso Kutumela scored twice to hand home a deserved win though Bloemfontein Celtic reduced the scoring at the 83 after Sepana Letsoala gave hope to his side.

The team of choice then won their first game os the season after eight matches as they drew twice and lost six times.

The team of choice however, are still in the relegation zone with just 5 points grabbed out of 27. Their 15th on league table with the same points as bottom-based side Black Leopards, who are yet to play their 9th game (against Stellenbosch next Friday).
