Africa Soccer NPFL: Plateau United, Wikki Tourists share spoils in Bauchi

Plateau United will have to wait probably till next game to get their first win of the season in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

 
After losing 2-0 to Kwara United at the New Jos Stadium Matchday 1, the former champions headed to Bauchi for their Matchday 2 game against Wikki Tourists.
 
Head coach, Abdul Maikaba retained only three players that suffered 2-0 at home to the Afonja warriors with Chidozie Anozie returned to goal post.
 
Both teams could not produce too many scoring chances with Plateau playing more in the back.

The first real chance of the first half came in the 37th minute when Jesse Akila’s effort was well claimed by Wikki goalkeeper.
 
 
Wikki got their own best chance three minutes later as Guda fired wide from a Udeagha’s corner kick.
 
Two minutes later, Guda’s goal bound ball was cleared off the line by Gabriel Wassa.
 
In the second half, Wikki player, Arinze Madu thought he had given the home team the breakthrough but his effort was deflected for a corner kick in the 70th minute.
 
In a speed of flash, Plateau United were on the attacking end as Oche effort was brilliantly saved by Wikki goalkeeper.
 
 
The last chance of the game fell to Plateau United but it took another brilliant save from Wikki Tourists who came off his line to make a sliding clearance before Akila goes through on goal.
 
Both side shared the spoils with Wikki now on four points in two games while Plateau United got their first point.
