Al Ahly manager Pitso Mosimane discussed the signing of Congolese striker Walter Bwalya who penned a four-year-deal with the Red Devils.

Bwalya joined the Cairo giants from El Gouna and said he is set to help the team of Pitso.

The South African manager then revealed the reason behind the 25-year-old transfer.

“CAF decided to increase the players in the squad due to the coronavirus that’s why we need in each position two or three players,” Mosimane said.

“With each swab test, I ask myself who will be absent from the team. Walter Bwalya’s presence will help the team. Bwalya is likely to play regularly, and all players must be available.

“If the regulars are fit and ready, we will not need many but it is important that replacements are at the same level, it’s a positive thing.” he added.
