Africa Soccer NWFL Week 4: Amazons gets first win as FC Robo run riot

The 2021 NWFL Premiership returned for the first time this year on Wednesday after the festive break with some thrilling results on Matchday 4.

Six games were played on Wednesday on various stadia across the nation with one draw and five home win with 16 goals scored.

The remaining game of Matchday 4 between Rivers Angels and Abia Angels is scheduled to be played on Thursday

Nasarawa Amazons 1-0 Delta Queens 

Nasarawa Amazons on Wednesday recorded their first win in the NWFL after going three games without a win.

The “Solid Babes” lost their first two home game but kicked off 2021 with a win.

The home team goal was a controversial one scored by Igboamalu Chinyere, however, the referee allowed it to stand.

Dreamstars FC 3-2 Ibom Angels 

Anuoluwapo Salisu last 87th minute goal handed the ‘Galaticas’ their first win of the season at the Agege Stadium.

A pulsating game with end to end attack from both teams saw the visitors take the lead through Uduakaobong Peter who scored in the 40th minute.

Salisu levelled for Dreamstars Ladies FC in the added time before the break as both

Olamide Isiaka completed the come back for the home team in the 56th minute fo make it 2-1.

Ibom Angels levelled through new entrant Blessing Nkor who scored from the spot.

Just when Ibom Angels thought they will settle for a share of the spoils, Salisu broke their heart in with her brace for the day.

Royal Queens 1 -0 Osun Babes

Another Delta State representatives, Royal Queens sealed a 1-0 win over visiting Osun Babes at the Warri Township Stadium.

The first half of the game ended goalless and the game was already dragging to the climax when Eunice Godwin from nowhere scored with two minutes remaining to hand the hosts a vital three points

Bayelsa Queens 2-1 Confluence Queens

After scooping the NWFL manager of the Month of December award, Bayelsa Queens head coach Moses Aduku continued business as usual.

He guided the team to another win as they maintained their unbeaten streak this season.

The hosts found themselves trailing in the 12th minute as Confluence Queens took the lead.

With two minutes to the break, Joy Jerry levelled for the hosts.

Confluence were then reduced to 10 -women after goalkeeper Mercy Vincent was shown a red card.

The first half ended with Bayelsa Queens failing to make use of their numbers.

Anjor Mary then gave her team the three points as she scored from the spot after she was appended inside the box.

FC Robo 5-1 Pelican Stars

On a day Monday Gift received her NWFL player of the Month for December award, she wrapped it with an excellent performance for FC Robo who ran riot against Pelican Stars.

Gift scored the second goal as FC Robo kept their perfect start to the new season in tact following the 5-1 victory.

Sunshine Queens  0-0 Edo Queens 

Nothing could separate both neighbours at the Akure Township stadium

Edo Queens headed to the game on the back of their stalemate with Rivers Angels before the league went for break.

A thrilling game saw the visitors dominating and scored twice but their goals was disallowed for off-site.

The game went on to end goalless as both teams could not phantom a way to break the deadlock .
