Africa ZAMBIA : ASSOCIATION BARS PRISONER FROM COACHING POSITION

Zambia top-flight league side Prison Leopards have been ordered to rescind their decision of drafting in their technical panel Dudley Fichite who is serving a life prison sentence.

In a letter addressed to Leopards secretary, FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala said it was wrong for the club to involve the former Zambian international in organized football.

He is serving jail term for an offence of defiling a relation.

In the meantime, we therefore direct that you avoid involving the aforesaid individual in any FAZ organised football activities to avoid the complications that may arise from this act,” reads Kashala’s letter dated January 7 2021.

We would appreciate that in future, your club should notify the Association before implementation of anything that you are not sure about so that we can give guidance in accordance with FIFA, CAF and FAZ statutes and regulations.”

In December 2018, Fichite, a former Green Buffaloes striker, was sentenced to life imprisonment for defilement.
