African players abroad Transfer Of Mostafa Mohamed To Saint-Etienne At Standstill

Mostafa Mohamed was close to complete move to French club Saint-Étienne. However Zamalek have announced that talks for this transfer have stalled for the time being. As the two clubs have yet to find an agreement between them.

Mohamed has been the main talk of Egyptian media for the past weeks as he’s been in link for a move abroad.

Turkey’s Galatasaray, Sporting Braga of Portugal, and Spanish club Rayo Vallecano have all expressed their desire to sign the forward. But French club Saint-Étienne are believed to be his preferred destination.

The Ligue 1 outfit became the closest team to sign him after submitting several official offers to sign the 23-year-old, which Zamalek rejected all.

Despite Zamalek’s spokesperson claiming that there close to find an agreement, the club’s official channel pressed the brakes on a potential agreement.

Negotiations with Saint-Étienne hasn’t worked out so far. The French club said that they will play 3.5M euros right away.” Zamalek TV presenter Khaled El-Ghandour said.

The club said that they won’t pay any other fees for a whole year then will pay the rest of the transfer fee in installments.” He added.

Mostafa Mohamed, 23, is a product of the Zamalek youth squad. And he was sent out on a couple of loan spells to El-Dakhliya, Tanta, and El-Gaish.

Overall, he has 22 goals in 69 games for the three clubs. And he already has 18 in 50 appearances for Zamalek, completing only one season with the Whites.

He has featured in just two games this season in the Premier League. He scored in both of them against Arab Contractors and Pyramids FC.
