Multiple reports emerged on Monday that the former Black Stars assistant trainer Maxwell Konadu is edging closer to join Berekum Chelsea. But the Former Asante Kotoko head coach has denied joining Ghana Premier League club.
Asante Kotoko sacked the 48-year-old coach on 17th December after the Porcupine Warriors lost 1-0 to Great Olympics in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
Chelsea has been without a substantive coach following the sacking of Hesse Odamtten.
However, a source has described the reports as ‘fake news’.
It is unclear if Chelsea will, in the near future consider engaging the services of Maxwell. But what is definite is that the two parties has not spoken nor reached an agreement to work together.
Berekum Chelsea sits 15th on the league log with nine points. And they will play rejuvenated Hearts of Oak in the matchday 10 fixtures this weekend.
