Africa Soccer GFA Threatens To Close Down Match Venues Violating Covid-19 Safety Protocols

Ghana Football Association (GFA) threatens to close down any Match venue where the Covid-19 Safety Protocols are violated.

GFA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo issued cautions to clubs during a virtual meeting on Wednesday, 20th January. Safety & Security Officers and Representatives of the 18 Premier League Clubs took part in this meeting.

The meeting which was to review the Covid-19 Protocols and Operations, was held as a result of  some breaches of the GFA’s Matchday Covid-19 protocols at some match venues.

Key issues that were addressed at the meeting include:

– Ticket and Accreditation mechanism.

– Social distancing for sitting and standing areas.

– Thermometer checks at various stadium entrances.

– Protection of Team zones and inner perimeter.

GFA Safety and Security Officer Julius Ben Emunah, Head of Competitions Sena Akoto Ampaw and Secretary to the Premier League Management Committee Mark Addo also attended the meeting.

Similar meetings will be held for Division One League and Women’s Premier Clubs accordingly.
