Malawian international Precious Sambani is set to undergo trials with DStv Premiership side, Golden Arrows FC in South Africa, his club has confirmed.
Malawi league champions, Nyasa Big Bullets have confirmed that their highly rated left-back will leave for the trials with the Durban-based side on Tuesday.
“The left-back, 22, is expected to return home on 8th February 2021 after the trials with the Durban-based Premier Soccer League side.
“Nyasa Big Bullets is wishing Precious all the success during the trials. As a Club we are delighted that our players continue to attract clubs in Africa and Europe. Bullets attacker Peter Banda is also currently undergoing trials at FC Sherriff Tiraspol in Moldova,” Bullets’ statement reads.
Sambani has represented Malawi at all levels from the under-17,20 to 23 teams. He is a regular in the senior national team.
While at Be Forward Wanderers FC, Sambani attended trials at Belgian side Clube Brugge alongside Banda in 2018. Both players failed the test.
Sambani was also linked with trials in Ukraine at second tier (Persha Liga) side FC Rukh Lviv but the trip did not materialize due to reported visa hitches.
Sambani will follow in the footsteps of compatriots such as Limbikani Mzava, Gabadinho Mhango and Chiukepo Msowoya who also had stints with Arrows.
