CHAN CHAN : NAMIBIA DEFENDER RETIRES AFTER EXIT IN CAMEROON

Namibia defender Pat-Nevin Uanivi has announced his retirement from international football.

His retired following the Brave Warriors exit from the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Cameroon.

Uanivi told Namibia Football Association media in Yaoundé that the match against Zambia, which ended goalless last week, was his last.

Though short, it has indeed been a great journey and I have learned much from all of you, as I am sure you have from me.

 This is not the end of football [for me], we will still meet on the pitch as we have in the past,” Uanivi he is quoted saying.

The African Stars FC Captain extended his gratitude to the coaches, whom he says he remain his inspiration.

The Brave Warriors were expected fly back to Namibia on Saturday, 30th January having bowed out of the competition without scoring in three games.

Namibia lost 3-0 to Guinea and 1-0 to Tanzania before holding Zambia all in Group D clashes. Zambia and Guinea proceeded to the quarter-finals.
