Egypt Tanta Coach Reda Abdel-Aal Sacked After Criticising Pitso Mosimane

Following a poor run of form, Egyptian second-division outfit Tanta have sacked Reda Abdel-Aal as their head coach. Reda Abdel-Aal took charge of struggling Tanta towards the end of the season. As he replaced Ahmed El-Mozayen as head coach last September.

The 55-year-old couldn’t improve Tanta as they were relegated from the Egyptian Premier League last season. As they finished 17th in the standings with just 22 points.

Tanta went on to have a poor start in the second division with Abdel-Aal. As they sit 16th, bottom of the table in Group B, with just seven points.

However, Abdel-Aal has been a long-time critic of Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane. And recently he said that the South African ‘would struggle in the second division’.

Abdel-Aal was then relieved of his duties as Tanta head coach just a day after slamming Mosimane. And has been replaced by Alaa Saber, the club announced on Friday.

Mosimane came under fire after Al Ahly recently dropped points in the Egyptian Premier League, with former Reds’ players criticising the South African, including Ibrahim Hassan, who said Pitso would get sacked after two games with any other team.
