CHAN CHAN : MOROCCO THUMP ZAMBIA TO SAIL THROUGH TO THE SEMIS

Defending champions Morocco cruised to the African Nations Championship (CHAN) semi-finals after thumping 10-man Zambia 3-1 on Sunday evening.

The Atlas Lions won the quarter-final match played at the Stade De La Reunification Stadium in Cameroon.

It took barely a minute for Morocco to score through Soufiane Rahimi.

Mohammed Bemammer doubled the lead seven minutes later as Zambia looked clueless.

The game got even more complicated for Zambia after Zachariah Chilongoshi was red carded in the 20th minute.

Things turned from bad to worse for Zambia in added time for the first-half after Ayoub El Kaabi scored from the penalty spot.

In the second-half, Moses Phiri crawled back some respectability to the scoreline for Zambia when he scored in the 80th minute.

Zambia qualified from Group D after beating Tanzania 2-0 and drew 1-1 with Guinea before closing the group games with 0-0 stalemate with Namibia.
