Africa Soccer ZAMBIA : PATSON DAKA SHORTLISTED FOR RED BULL SALZBURG PLAYER OF MONTH AWARD

Patson Daka

Zambian striker Patson Daka is among four players shortlisted for FC Red Bull Salzburg’s Player of the Month January award.

Salzburg have announced on their website that Daka has been shortlisted alongside Cican Stankovic, Rasmus Kristensen and Luka Sucic following their sterling performances last month.

Justifying the nomination, Salzburg website wrote: “When would our marksman not be in contention for Player of the Month? Patson always scores. In January too. Once in every match so far – three times in total, with the Zambian being good enough to set his friend Enock Mwepu up against Hartberg too.”

CICAN STANKOVIC

Credit where it is due! He has taken some flak at times, but he has organised his defence perfectly since the restart, keeping clean sheets in all three matches. In 132 matches in goal for our Red Bulls, he has kept 50 clean sheets – and we won 45 of those matches.

RASMUS KRISTENSEN

Trust the Iceman to shine at the coldest time of the year. Rasmus was on the short list in December too. He has underscored once more why he has become irreplaceable in the right-back position. With his penchant for both crunching tackles at the back and offering a creative threat going forward, he scored two goals in a friendly match against Steyr as well as against SV Ried.

LUKA SUCIC

He was playing mostly for our cooperation club FC Liefering before the winter break. Yet the 18-year-old has already become a regular in our first team. He has started every competitive match for us in 2021 so far. His elegance has enriched our side too. He has a wonderful left foot and moves with incredible ease.
