It’s 2 weeks since all African football’s lovers eyes are turned toward Cameroon. The country of football’star Samuel Eto’o is hosting from 16th January 2021 to 7th February 2021, the 6th African Nations Championship’s tournament. 16 African Nations of football are struggling for the continental crown : Cameroon, Morocco, Zambia, Rwanda, Mali, Congo, DR Congo, Niger, Zimbabwe, Togo, Lybia, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Tanzania, Namibia and Guinea. The competition kicked off January and and the race is open. Only one of these big teams will be crowned and risen to the top of Africa. Morocco defend their title and will have to face though opponents. The competition still goes on and has just turned over the quarterfinals’ page. The qualified teams for the next step are already known. Let’s discover the Nations who qualified for the semi-finals.

The indomitable lions of Cameroon

The hosting Nation are the first qualified for the semi-finals after an epic game against DR Congo. Any doubt : this Cameroon vs DR Congo was one the most expected clashes of the quarter-finals round. By the way, every Cameroon vs DR Congo is a dualism to watch close. All African football’s fans remember their huge fights during African Cup of Nations. Cameroon have been lucky these last years. Anyway,  the indomitable lions knew they had a favourite’ status to defend. Besides, they are the hosts and had to make all Cameroonians proud. Lions are as followed as Pari sportif. By their side, DR-Congo had a revenge to take against their CAN’s final defeaters. They also had a two-times’ winners honor to keep safe. This was finally the match of all expectations. And it has held all its promises. We have seen a Cameroon vs DR Congo rich in actions and full of surprises. This 28th January 2021, Leopards fought and gave their all to overcome their opponents but the indomitable lions roared louder and have won the match 2-1.

The  Atlas Lions

The North Africa’s team and holder of the title succeeded to make a place in the semi-finals train. Morocco hold all promises and are playing a good and prolific CHAN’s campaign up to now. They are defending with strength their crown and show us some of the good things we have seen during this ongoing African Nations Championship’s tournament. 31st January, at Reunification Stadium , The Atlas Lions dominated another favorite, Zambia. The Chipololo were not strong enough to take the best over Maghrebines. Morocco defeated them 3-1 after another prolific game from the Lions. Second semi-final in row for Moroccans and maybe a second final and why not a second title in row. For this, Atlas Lions will face Cameroon’s Lions before. This Cameroon vs Morocco is definitely a highly-awaited game. We are looking forward.

The Eagles of Mali

We know them as one of the best football’s teams and Nations in Africa. Mali confirm this once again. They were expected and the Eagles are satisfying the expectations. Mali are the third qualified team for the semi-finals.  Malians played some good games and managed to reach Cameroon and Morocco. They defeated Congo after 120 minutes without any goal. It took penalties shootout to make Malians win a though game. Malians scored all their 5 shots meanwhile Congoleses lost one of theirs. Bamako can celebrate !

The National Syli : Guinea

Guinea are the fourth and last qualified team for the semi-finals stage. The Syli struggled to reach the wagon after a though groups’stage. 31st January’s night, they took the best against Rwanda. That was a really difficult game for the Guineans who were very close to get knocked out by Rwanda. The Syli had played about the whole game 10 against 11 and conceded some dangerous goals actions. They suffered a lot in front of  hungry Rwanda’s players who failed to make the difference. This difference will be finally made by Guineans who scored a late goal, eliminating Rwandeses and qualifying for semi-finals round. Next step : a Mali vs Guinea awaited match.

The qualified Nations are known and the semi-finals clashes also. Lions’ fight between Morocco and Cameroon and clash Guinea vs Mali. Both games will be held the same day, Wednesday 03 February 2021. Guinea vs Mali will take place at 4 p.m and Cameroon vs Morocco later at 7 p.m. We are looking forward  to seeing the two finalists.
