African players abroad Owen Hargreaves Praised Iheanacho As Leicester City Won Over Fulham

Leicester City have climbed to third position in the Premier League standings. As they beat Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage on Wednesday evening. Courtesy of first half goals from Kelechi Iheanacho and James Justin.

The Nigeria international made a rare Premier League start for the Foxes. Benefiting from the absence of top goalscorer Jamie Vardy who is recovering after hernia surgery and he repaid the manager’s faith by breaking the deadlock in the 17th minute – his first goal in the top-flight in fifteen matches.

Iheanacho nodded home from ten yards out after a pinpoint delivery from the in-form James Maddison.

The Super Eagle was involved in the build-up to Leicester City’s second goal. He made a smart turn and found Maddison who played in James Justin and the fullback slotted home.

Speaking on Premier League Productions at half-time,  former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves praised Iheanacho for his goal and secondary assist.

What a ball from James Maddison ! He puts it on a plate for Iheanacho. To be fair, Iheanacho adjusts absolutely brilliantly“. Hargreaves said.

“This goal is a dream, Iheanacho with a lovely turn and then the rest of it is a dream.” The retired England international added on Justin’s goal.

The four players of Nigerian descent that started the Fulham vs Leicester City clash – Tosin Adarabioyo, Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman and Iheanacho – went the distance.

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is on the mend due to a hamstring issue. And the game came too soon for Josh Maja who joined Fulham on deadline day.
