Africa CONFEDERATION CUP : NO MAYUKA AS NAPSA STARS FC LEAVE FOR KENYA

Zambia Super Division team, Napsa Stars FC, left for Kenya on Wednesday minus their star striker Emmanuel Mayuka, formerly of Southampton.

Napsa face Gor Mahia FC at Nyayo International Stadium in the first leg match of the CAF Confederation Cup pre-group stage on Sunday.

Napsa left Lusaka at 9:40hrs aboard Kenya Airways on Wednesday.

We arrived safely in Karibu Nairobi, Kenya, ahead of Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup Pre-Group Stage 1st Leg match against Gor Mahia FC,” Napsa tweeted.

“The team was in Nairobi at 15h00 local time (14h00) Zambian time, but spent two hours to get to the hotel owing to heavy traffic.”

However, it is the absence of Mayuka that has made news in Zambia.

After all, Mayuka scored the leveler in the away 1-1 draw against UD Songo in Mozambique to help Napsa progress to the pre-group stage.

The former Chipolopolo hitman also scored twice in the 9-2 aggregate win over Ngazi Sport of Comoros in the preliminary round
