Club NPFL: Lionel not satisfied with Pillars performance against MFM

Kano Pillars FC head coach Emmanuel Lionel says he was not too impressed with his team performance despite the 1-0 win against MFM FC.

The MaSuGida continued their 100% impressive home record in the Match Day 10 of the ongoing 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season, NPFL, played at the Ahmadu Bello stadium Kaduna.

A last gasp goal by Umar Hassan in added time gave Pillars the points against a resilience MFM FC side.

Lionel in post-match interview, thanked God for the victory and described the match as the toughest he has played so far this season.

 

The former Rapid Menton of France coach said, his boys did not played to the expectations but the most important thing is the maximum points at the end.

I am happy we won but my players did not played well as we planned”, Coach Lionel said.

 

He reaffirmed that he will not relent on his effort of ensuring the Sai Masu Gida achieved their targeted objectives at the end of the season.

 

Goal scorer of the match, Umar Hassan aka Maggi, who doubled as the Man of the Match thanked journalists at the match centre for voting him as the most outstanding player of the evening. 

He described the victory as a collective efforts of his teammates and the technical crew.

 

“I have to thanked Almighty Allah for giving me the opportunity to score my first goal this season to secure my team the needed points,” Umar Hassan added.

 

The Man of the Match award was presented to Hassan by the Kaduna state Football Association board member, Engineer Muhammad Yusuf Best, courtesy of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Kano state chapter.

 

The result have moved the Pride of Kano to 3rd on the 20-team Nigeria Professional Football League log with 20 points from 10 matches.
