Africa Soccer Facing Al Ahly after the Club WC is a big motivation, says Al-Merrikh coach

Nasreddine Nabi

Al-Merrikh coach Nasreddine Nabi admitted that it is a big motivation for his side to face Al Ahly in CAF Champions league after their third-place finish in the FIFA Club World Cup.

If Al Ahly fans are considering their team as decreased, it is however, motivating their tonight opponents in the group stage of the CAF Champions league.

As said by the Sudanese club manager Nabi, the achievements of Al Ahly in Qatar are greats and force respect and he believes Pitso will find solutions without five of his key players ruled out for this game.

“Simba’s victory over AS Vita complicated things for us but we are capable of reaching the quarterfinal. I congratulate to Al Ahly and Mahmoud El-Khatib for the third place in Club World Cup. Facing them after this achievement presents a big motivation,” Nabi told Sada El Balad TV.

“Al Ahly’s performance did not match the club’s ideas which always aim to play beautiful football like we always saw them. I expected better performance but Mosimane is free to choose the playing method that suits his team.”

“Mosimane will find solutions to overcome the injuries and absences. I haven’t played the Club World Cup but I still have almost half my team absent.”
