Dstv Premiership Junior Khanye Calling On Kaizer Chiefs To Appoint ‘Proper People’ For Successful Club

Kaizer Chiefs lost 2-1 to AmaZulu in DStv Premiership game on Wednesday. This defeat was their third in as many matches. And the club former midfielder Junior Khanye is surprised that Gavin Hunt cannot get the best out of the current squad. And he has pleaded with the management to sack him.

He said it is not only Hunt who should be let go but the entire technical team. Adding that ‘proper people’ should be appointed for Chiefs to be successful again.

“We are talking about a team that stayed in position one for 10 months and got removed on the last day of the season.” Khanye told iDiskiTV.

“And then you tell me you can’t get the best out of this team?” He asked.

“At least if Gavin fails, he should be in the top five, especially this season. We are into the second round now. So, it shows you that the identity [isn’t there].

“I don’t understand his style of play. But he’s been playing like this for the longest time.

“I am sorry but Gavin must be called [by the management] to say, ‘coach, we are sorry but please try something else’.”

“But then again, trying something else [won’t help]. I am still saying, can they start the team afresh, the whole technical team, and appoint proper people to try and go back to their identity and culture?

“I am sorry but Gavin Hunt must also go. And they must give themselves time to listen to the fans. Because rushing now won’t help them. There’s a big problem there. It’s deeper.” Added Khanye.

Hunt, 56, has been in charge of 24 matches across all competitions since his arrival at the start of the season. He has recorded seven wins, six draws and suffered a whopping nine defeats for Amakhosi.
