Africa Soccer ZIMBABWE : CAPS UNITED STAR TRAVELS TO PORTUGAL FOR TRIALS

Zimbabwe’s Caps United star, Blessing Sarupinda, has left for Portugal to attend trials with third-tier league side, Sporting Clube Olhanense.

Sarupinda was supposed to leave for the trials in February last year but the trip was shelved due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.

Star Blessing Sarupinda is set to leave today at Midday for a trial stint in Europe. He was previously invited in Portugal by a 3rd tier league team but could not be tried due to the Corona Virus in February 2020. All the best Macaveli,” Caps tweeted.

The player also told Sportbrief that: “Yes I am leaving today (9 March) for trials in Portugal.”

“I can confirm that Blessing (Sarupinda) is scheduled to leave for Portugal tonight (last night) where he will undergo an assessment for the next 21 days,’’ CAPS vice-president, Nhamo Tutisani told The Herald newspaper.

Olhanense is a Portuguese sports club from OlhãoAlgarve.

The team was founded in 1912 and currently plays in the Campeonato de Portugal, the third division of Portuguese football.

It holds home matches at the 5,661-spectator capacity Estádio José Arcanjo.

Olhanense won the Campeonato de Portugal in 1924, their most prestigious honour in history.
