Africa Soccer CAFCC : INJURY-HIT FC PLATINUM STILL BELIEVE IN PROGRESSION

Zimbabwe league champions, FC Platinum, might have been hit by injuries but they still have hope.

It is that hope that Platinum will carry onto the Stade Lat Dior pitch in Senegal when facing ASC Jaraaf Sunday evening.

Platinum have their backs to the war having lost 0-1 in the first leg match of the CAF Confederation Cup played in Harare.

As if the first-leg loss was not enough setback, Platinum have been hit by injuries.

Platinum midfielders Kelvin Madzongwe and William Sitima have been ruled out of the second-leg clash due to injuries.

To make matters worse, Platinum Facebook page reports that vice-captain Madzongwe did not train with the rest of the team after last Sunday’s loss to Jaraaf.

“The first team has been dealt a blow ahead of their CAF Confederations clash 2nd leg play-off against ASC Jaraaf with Madzongwe ruled out of the match due to injury,” a statement on Platinum website says.

Madzongwe picked up a back strain in the loss to Jaraaf and is expected to go for a scan in two weeks.

However, despite such setbacks Platinum coach Norman Mapeza has a plan to salvage something from the game.

An early away goal can change the complexion of the game.
