Egypt Al Ahly Have Fined And Suspended Mahmoud Kahraba For Disciplinary Reasons

Ahly handed controversial winger Mahmoud Kahraba a one-month suspension for disciplinary reasons that they did not specify. The club announced this decision on Wednesday.

Reports from Egypt claim that Kahraba has fallen out with head coach Mosimane. And the player will face a lengthy spell on the sidelines as punishment.

The 26-year-old Egyptian attacker has been a star performer for Pitso Mosimane. As he scored eight goals while assisting a further three in just 22 appearances under the former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor.

His antics off the field of play however have landed him in hot water with Mosimane and his technical team taking the decision to place Kahraba under immediate suspension.

Al Ahly’s coaching staff decided to impose a fine of EGP 200,000 ($12,700) on the team player Mahmoud Kahraba and rule him out of matches for one month for disciplinary reasons.” Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly revealed in an official club statement.

It’s not the first time Mahmoud Kahraba has found himself in hot water at Al Ahly. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) banned him for 10 matches last year. This happened after being involved in an altercation with several Zamalek players during an Egyptian Super Cup game.

Ahly also handed him a R950 000 fine following a training ground bust-up with star goalkeeping teammate Mohamed El-Shenawy. Pitso Mosimane is one manager who doesn’t allow bad boys to influence his camp.

Kahraba will have to adjust his behaviour off the field of play. Otherwise coach Pitso Mosimane will soon sidelined him. The likes of Andile Jali and Gaston Sirino were forced to correct their behaviour before the Kagiso born tactician trusted during his highly successful time at Mamelodi Sundowns.
