AFCON ZAMBIA : MWEPU GIVES CHIPOLOPOLO HOPE AHEAD OF AFCON QUALIFIERS

The inspiring form of winger Enock Mwepu should be good news for Zambia ahead of next month’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Mwepu scored a double and compatriot Patson Daka contributed an assist for Red Bull Salzburg as the Austrian champions beat Graz 4-0 on Wednesday.

The emphatic win at Wörthersee Stadion propelled Salzburg to the final of the UNIQA OFB Cup.

Mwepu glanced his header into the net in the 36th minute before adding the second goal in the 54th minute.

Mergïm Berisha scored the third goal in the 72nd minute with Daka providing the assist.

American Brenden Aaronson completed the rout late in the game.

The Austrian giants now date LASK in the final scheduled for May 1 2021.

Before that Mwepu and Daka will surely be Zambia coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic’s trusted men in attack in Group H of the AFCON qualifiers.

The group comprises Algeria, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
