AFCON Black Stars completes 1st training session in Accra, set to rally Johannesburg

Ghana Black Stars completed their first training in Accra on Monday ahead of their trip to Johannesburg this Tuesday, March 23 for 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier matchday 5 against South Africa.

At the helm of the Group C with nine points, a win will be enough for the CK Akonnor’s men to book their place for the 2021 AFCON.

And Mubarak Wakaso and teammates who trained in Accra on Monday would like to do it on Thursday, March 25 when they engage Bafana Bafana in Johannesburg.

Baba Abdul Rahman, Mohammed Kudus, Osman Bukari, Nicholas Opoku, Emmanuel Lomotey and Kwasi Okyere Wriedt were tipped to join the team on Monday night, while Richard Ofori will join them in SA from Orlando Pirates.

In addition, UK-based players : Andre and Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey will not be part of the contingent to South Africa who is England’s red list, and will be available for the hosting of Sao Tome and Principe later this month.
