AFCON Journalists, fans barred from Super Eagles Second Training Session

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr barred journalists and football fans from the team training session on Wednesday.

Following the arrival of all players t0 their Eko Hotels camp, the team had their first training session on Tuesday which was open to journalists.

However, with Wednesday training being the last before their departure to Cotonou, the gate of the Stadium was shut.

Nigeria will travel by water to Cotonou on Friday morning before going to Porto Novo where they will play against Squirrels of Benin at the Charles de Gaulle Stadium in Porto-Novo.

The team had its second training session on Tuesday evening at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in preparation for the AFCON class against Squirrels of Benin on Saturday.

Wednesday’s training session was the last before they will travel to Benin by water on Thursday morning hence the barring of journalists and fans.

Nigeria currently top Group L and a point or win will see them pick their ticket for the 2021 AFCON tournament to be hosted by Cameroon.
