AFCON AFCON : Malawi Seal Ticket To Cameroon following 1-0 win over Uganda

Malawi stunned Uganda 1-0 on Monday to qualify for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals.

South Africa-based Richard Mbulu scored the only goal of the Group B game in the 16th minute.

Fans who were not allowed into the Kamuzu Stadium chanted outside the stadium.

To maintain its grip on the game, Malawi pulled out Khuda Muyaba for Rafik Namwera.

Malawi suffered an early setback when Robin Ngalande suffered an injury and was replaced by Fransisco Madinga.

Eventually, Peter Banda paved the way for Denis Chembezi.

Malawi completed qualification slot for Group B after ammasing 10 points.

It is only the third time that Malawi has qualified for the finals having also done so in 1984 and 2010.

Uganda finished the group with eight points.
Burkina Faso already sealed qualification with nine points.
