Confederation of African Football CAF has cleared Alex Iwobi to play today’s Africa Nations Cup final qualifier game against Lesotho.
Iwobi tested positive for the virus prior to Saturday’s clash against Benin Republic in Porto Novo.
However, another COVID-19 test conducted on Monday returned negative and will be available for selection against Lesotho.

A tweet made available on the Super Eagles official reads as follows;
“@NGSuperEagles forward, @alexiwobi has tested negative after further COVID-19 tests were conducted.”
Nigeria have already qualified for the AFCON 2021 tournament even before their 1-0 win against Benin Republic last week.
The team trained on Monday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Monday evening ahead of the game.
Super Eagles will host Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos and the game will kick off 5.00pm.
