TP Mazembe owner Moise Katumbi has said running the Democratic Republic of the Congo giants was not an easy task.

Mazembe website quotes Katumbi as having made such remarks at Futuka Centre when the club was preparing for the CAF Champions League group stage match against CR Belouizdad.

“You know, running a business is not easy… There are a lot of sacrifices that we make,” he said.

“Today, we have the young people of the KFA that we continue to train. We also have the Football School that can be said to us; where did the committee sin?”  Katumbi says.

“… the young people have things to improve, but at a certain moment, we will say “OK, let’s stop with the players who have helped us a lot. They will join the technical staff one day, Mihayo has joined the technical staff, ”  Footrdc quotes Katumbi saying.

Katumbi also defended coach Mihayo who has endured a torrid start to his reign.

He pleaded for patience saying the coach was still learning.

“What I ask the supporters is not to be too critical of the coach. He returned from Europe not long ago. He’s not going to work a miracle. He returned, he works, there is cohesion to be found between players. Let’s give the coach time. Pamphile was a great player, he is a child of Mazembe,” Katumbi says.

Mazembe travel to Algeria for the match against Belouizdad on April 2 2021.
