Africa Soccer MALAWI : Pasuwa welcomes football return for Bullets

Nyasa Big Bullets coach Kallisto Pasuwa has welcomed the return of top-flight football in Malawi.

As Nyasa Big Bullets, we are always ready. It doesn’t matter we are playing a friendly match or a league match.

We need to be ready on everything because we are a big team that needs results every time,” the Zimbabwean told Bullets website.

We have been having training sessions with the boys who were around and we had five of our players with the [Malawi] national team. As much as we support the national team, in terms of the mode of [club] training, those who were with the Flames are now behind, so we need to squeeze them in so that we get the best out of them [as the games restart.”

The elite TNM Super League resumed on Friday after nearly a seven-week break necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bullets resume their title defence when they welcome Mzuzu Warriors on Saturday then face Mighty Tigers on Monday.

Bullets are on position eight with 12 points from seven games whereas Warriors have eight points from eight games lying on 13th place.

The games resumed on Friday when Tigers edged out Ntopwa FC 1-0 courtesy of Mathias Nyirenda’s strike registered in the second minute at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

Tigers have eight points from nine games while placed 12th on the 16th member log table.

Still in Blantyre, Red Lions defeated Warriors 1-0 whereas Civo Service settled for a goalless draw against TN Stars at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
