The Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper Andre Onana is currently training alone on amateur pitches. As the disciplinary body of the European football association, Uefa, imposed a suspension of 12 months on the Cameroon international.

Onana will appeal the sanction handed down to the shot-stopper for a doping violation at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). In February, Onana was banned from football for a year after Furosemide was found in his urine during an “out of competition” check on October 30.

He has formed an integral part of Ajax’s success over the last few seasons. And he has kept 83 clean sheets in 204 appearances for the club.

Onana also established himself as the first choice for his country. But he is in danger of missing the Indomitable Lions’ 2022 Africa Cup of Nations campaign on home soil due to the ban.
