Arsenal Manager, Mikel Arteta, has given a clean bill of health for club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

We just spoke with him. He’s at home, he’s fine, he’s completely fine at the moment. He had two days in hospital to get the right treatment but he’s feeling good now,” Arteta told Arsenal website.

Asked on whether the striker will be back to training soon, Arteta said:
We’ll see how he recovers. I think he’ll need a few days to recover from that. He wants to be back as soon as possible, that’s what he said to me.”

Aubameyang is being treated at a hospital after he contracted malaria while on national duty with Gabon in March.

He scored in Gabon 3-0 win over DR Congo in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.

Since his return to London, the former Borussia Dortmund star played just few games with the Gunners.

Aubameyang missed Thursday night’s Europa League match which the Gunners won 4-0 against Slavia Prague.

“I’ve spent a few days in hospital this week,” he said on Instagram.

“I’m already feeling much better every day, thanks to the great doctors that detected and treated the virus so quickly.

“I wasn’t really feeling myself the last couple weeks but will be back stronger than ever soon!”
