Ivorian defender Eric Bailly has made his long-awaited return to Manchester United training.

United website quotes Bailly confirming that he has returned to the club after his recent Covid-19-enforced lay-off.

Back to training. Excited to be back with the team very soon. Thanks for all the concern and support messages after being diagnosed with COVID,” he posted on his Instagram.

The 27-year-old posted a picture of himself at the Aon Training Complex on Monday.

The Ivorian has had to sit out of all five games for United since the international break, having tested positive for coronavirus while with the Ivorian national team earlier this month.

In his absence, United relied on the defensive partnership of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof .

Bailly has featured in 15 games for United this season including eight in the league.

His most recent showing, during March’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan at Old Trafford, was Eric’s 100th appearance for the club, the website says.

Bailly’s availability is a boost for United who have title aspirations since they lie eight points behind leaders Manchester City.
