Africa Soccer SOUTH AFRICA : Bafana Bafana new coach to be unveiled Saturday

South Africa Football Association (Safa) has closed in on the new coach for the senior national team, Bafana Bafana.

Safa has confirmed today via its tweeter handle that it will unveil the new coach on Saturday.

“@SAFA_net will announce new Bafana Bafana head coach on Saturday, 24 April 2021,” Safa tweeted.

The news come after Safa president, Danny Jordaan, reportedly said their technical committee would present its recommendation of the coach to the executive committee.

The technical committee’s chairperson, Jack Maluleke, told the media last week that they had received applications from 200 coaches eyeing the job.

Media reports have cited former Zambia coach Herve Renard, Phillipe Troussier, Hugo Broos, Carlos Queiroz, Pitso Mosimane and Benni McCarthy as among the frontrunners for the job.

South Africa is looking for a new coach after the axing of Ntseki Molefi for failing to steer Bafana Bafana to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
